TravelSupermarket managing director Chris Nixon has announced a restructuring of managerial roles including his decision to step down to the position of commercial director.

Travolution can reveal the meta search engine is now looking for a new managing director to be in place by early-2008.

The switch will coincide with a redesign of the website next year and a move to offering partners a hybrid cost-per-click and cost-per-acquisition model for payments.

Nixon is expected to concentrate on commercial development of the brand, leaving the new managing director to oversee strategy and the company’s aspirations overseas.

He said: “Due to the rapid expansion of the business and so many more challenges we have in the pipeline, I feel I need to focus my strengths on the areas of the company which I can have the biggest impact on, those being the commercial input and development.

“The success of travelsupermarket.com and the speed of growth, together with the ambitious plans for the future I feel means that we need someone in the managing director’s role with international experience at senior level.”

Simon Nixon, chief executive of Moneysupermarket.com Group PLC, said: “Chris’ leadership has been outstanding over the past three years.

“His drive and focus on the business has enabled it to become a top travel website, reaching fourth position in terms of visitors to the site.”
