How travel firms can increase loyalty, drive up conversion and limit look-to-book ratios will be debated at the Travolution Summit in November by an experienced senior panel.
The session, part of the headline sponsorship agreed with Sabre Travel Network, will look at how the trend towards personalisation will impact on the travel sector.
Entitled ‘From a one-night-stand to a steady relationship’, the panel session will feature one of Sabre’s top experts, Dirk Guenther, director of air shopping and decision support at Sabre.
Jon Pickles, who until recently was product director at Comtec, will make up the expert panel along with Chris Roche, Travel Republic commercial director, and Vic Darvey, managing director new business at Travelsupermarket.
Darvey was previously vice president and commercial director EMEA at lastminute.com, which he joined following the acquisition of Online Travel Corporation, the previously AIM-listed company which he co-founded in 1997.
Kingston-Upon-Thames-based Travel Republic is the UK’s largest independent travel agency having seen a meteoric rise over the last eight years, culminating in its buy-out by Middle Eastern travel giant Dnata in December 2011.
The discussion will look at how travel firms can stand out from the crowd in a crowded marketplace, with particular focus on semantic search, visual search, personalisation engines and the power of sharing.
Lee Hayhurst, Travolution editor, said: “Grabbing share of voice on the web is a particular challenge for firms in an increasingly noisy online world.
“The Travolution Summit’s agenda has been designed to give delegates a broad insight into many aspects of doing business online but if one theme will run through the day it will be how you can stand out.”
Elizabeth Martins, Sabre Travel Network’s commercial director for the UK and Ireland said: “Sabre is absolutely delighted to be supporting the Travolution Summit as a headline sponsor for the second year.
“A strong line-up of sessions and speakers has been lined up again for 2013 and we are looking forward to kicking things off by introducing guest speaker Paul Mason.
“After he gives Summit’s traditional economic update our panel session will help to set the scene for the rest of the day by debating the hot topic of personalisation.
“We’re sure the event will once again prove to be hugely valuable for all the delegates who attend this year and so we urge you to waste no time in snapping up your place.”
Delegate places for this year’s Summit are available for the early bird rate of just £99 until September 9.
