New ancillary provider to the trade Luggage Mule has opened up to trade business with the launch if its business-to-business website.
The firm, backed by well-known industry entrepreneurs including On Holiday Group’s Steve Endacott and Pure Genie’s Ian Brooks, is offering agents a new revenue opportunity for couriering bags.
Director Jordan Makin said agents can sign themselves up on the Luggage Mule site and start earning money straight away.
“We are ahead of where we expected at the moment,” he said. “It was nice to see when we went live with the B-B site we had people signing up straight away.”
Agents are given their own login and booking platform as well as a unique web address which can be sent to their client database to drive bookings.
The firm, which uses UPS, Fedex and TNT courier services, currently pays around £5 a bag for a return service although it hopes to increase this in 2014 after negotiating better supplier deals.
Recent additions to the service have included vouchers and promotional codes for agent partners to use and a quicker bag-tracking service for customers.
There are also plans to add Feefo customer rating reviews to the site.
Luggage Mule has already signed up 12 agent or affiliate deals with the likes of Purple Parking, Neilsen, Perfect Weddings and Oliver’s Travels.
Makin said the vast majority of bookings to date have been for ski equipment, particularly after some carriers changed their policies reducing the amount of luggage they allow.
“We think come March or April we will start to get some golf volume and hopefully a month of two after that some beach bookings,” said Makin.
He added that Luggage Mule was in discussions with ten to 15 potential trade partners, including some major names.
