A software specialist with 20 years experience has been named as head of innovation and research at Amadeus.

Murray Mazer, recently vice president of software engineering and distributed development at Endeca Technologies, is taking the role.

After Endeca’s acquisition by Oracle Corporation in 2011, Mazer served as founding site director for Oracle’s research and development centre in Shanghai.

Amadeus head of research and development Hervé Couturier said: “Innovation is at the very heart of everything Amadeus does: it’s in our DNA and is central to our whole raison d’étre.

“With this in mind I am very proud to be able to welcome Murray to Amadeus as our new head of innovation and research.

“He has an incredibly strong track record and brings with him not only a wealth of experience, credibility and insight but also a genuine creativity and desire to think differently at every turn.”

Mazer said: “Amadeus’s strong position in the market means we are well placed to turn new ideas into great products and services for the travel industry and the travellers they serve.”
