Former Traveltainment chief executive Andy Owen-Jones is joining Bristol-based Multicom in a non-executive role.
Owen-Jones left Traveltainment in 2011 having previously been in the role of director of travel distribution solutions at parent Amadeus since 2001.
Prior to that he worked as commercial manager of Virgin Travelstore and before that had general manager roles at Virgin Atlantic.
Owen-Jones is relocating from southern France to live in southwest England where Multicom is based.
As well as the Multicom role he will continue to work on other interests and investments he has in travel and technology firms including BD4Travel, an analytics specialist he co-founded.
He is also chairman of Karibu Games, which has created games for the likes of Thomas Cook, and owner of OJ Holdings, an angel investor and consultancy.
Multicom managing director John Howell said: “We’re delighted to welcome Andy to the team at Multicom in a non-executive role.
“His knowledge and experience of the travel industry will help him play a part in our ambitious growth plans as we develop our business organically both internationally and in the UK.”
Owen-Jones said: "I am delighted to be joining Multicom as a non-Exec after having been an advisor for a while.
"It is a company with a great position, loads of potential and lots of experience built up over years.
"They have some very good products that can instantly translate into other markets, but we are not going to take our focus off the needs of our core UK customer base.
"I like what I see from the development team and they are working very hard on reinforcing the operations.
"Maybe I am biased, but I think Multicom will only do better and better. John and the management team are a good blend."
