Relaunched Thomson and First Choice websites prompted a record 17.9 million visits in January.
More than half of all bookings taken in the peak selling month were made online; January 11 was the busiest day with reservations up by 25% on the same day in 2013.
Bookings made via mobile devices were up 85% and 93% respectively on the Thomson and First Choice websites.
This follows enhancements made throughout Thomson and First Choice's fully mobile-optimised websites to make it easier for users to research and book holidays.
Experian Hitwise data confirmed that Thomson was the most visited OTA website in January.
The most popular destinations booked in January across the websites were Tenerife, Sharm el-Sheikh and Majorca.
The most booked hotels were the Thomson Sensatori Resort, Sharm el-Sheikh and First Choice Holiday Village, Red Sea.
Thomson and First Choice marketing and digital director Jeremy Ellis said: “After listening to our customers we have invested in our websites to improve the overall experience and make the user journey as seamless as possible.
