Virgin Holidays has unleashed its first digital magazine for the Apple and Android operating systems.

Called Unleashed, the free quarterly title has been developed with content agency Future Plus and promises to “revolutionise the way digital content is presented”.

Jayne Caple, managing director of Future Plus, told inpublishing.co.uk: “Unleashed is our best digital edition to date.

“It’s got a superb balance of deep information and lighter, more entertainment focused pieces, as well as many unique interactive elements that readers won’t have seen before – which was all inspired by collaborating with the cool, innovative company that Virgin Holidays is.

“Technologically, Unleashed really sets the standard for what digital publishing should be and editorially I believe we’ve put together a really exciting, diverse and inspirational magazine that readers will get real benefit from.”

James Ward, brand and digital engagement manager at Virgin Holidays, added: “We know that customers are looking for inspiration on many different platforms and we’re always striving to find the best way of bringing our holidays to life.

“Unleashed showcases both the destinations and the experiences around a holiday to their fullest in an innovative and engaging way that will hopefully get the reader dreaming about their next trip.”

The launch features the Zulu tribes of Kwazulu Natal, waterfalls of Costa Rica, fine dining in Dubai and zip-lining in Jamaica.

There’s also travel tips from Virgin experts and Game of Thrones’ Maisie Williams, expert photography, and a create-your-own beach-to-bar outfit functionality.
