A consumer study into the holiday booking habits of Brits by OTA Bravofly has indicated the astonishing speed at which some people operate.
The One Poll survey of 500 people found 53% spend less than 30 minutes making a booking while one in ten take just 10 minutes.
The study also found almost a third of young people now make all their bookings via phones and three quarters of respondents never use a high street travel agent.
The rise of the mobile was also highlighted, with one in seven of those who responded saying they will make all their travel plans on the move.
For young people especially, the response about booking via a phone was even more stark.
Almost a third (28%) of 18-24-year-olds revealed they always use their smartphone to shop for flights, while 2% of those aged 55 and over are giving it a try.
Using the web was being driven by cost implications, the survey found, with three quarters seeing the web as giving them access to the best prices.
Young people are the most cost-aware, with those aged 18-24 choosing flights purely on price compared to 75% of 55-plus-year-olds.
Almost two thirds liked the 24-hour nature of internet booking, 53% wanted access to comparison sites and 51% said it was quicker than using an agent.
Almost a third admitted using their office computer to shop for flights, and 16% made reservations during work time. 10% wait until lunch.

“What these results demonstrate very clearly is that cost, speed and convenience are everything to modern travellers - whether they’re flying for personal or professional reasons.”
