Expedia creates Private Label MD position

Expedia has promoted Karen Bohannon to the new role of managing director for its Private Label business in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

The new post has been created to oversee the development of partnerships for Expedia and Hotels.com’s products with the likes of Eurostar and Virgin.

Expedia’s Private Label business is also looking to expand its remit to non-travel websites such Formula1.com.

Bohannon takes on the role just three years after joining Expedia from Travelocity as director of account management and planning.

Vice president for Expedia Private Label in EMEA, David Roche, said: “Karen has played an instrumental role in developing the Private Label business by launching new services in multiple markets across EMEA, and by building a superb account team to support our partnerships.

“Karen will ensure that our partners continue to enjoy unrivalled value from Expedia Private Label, leveraging our market-leading supply, proven technology, and Private Label’s commitment to partner growth.”

Prior to joining Expedia, Bohannon was a director at Travelocity’s last-minute booking operation Site59.
