Lastminute.com has ordered a major restructuring of its UK marketing team as it battles in an increasingly competitive marketplace and attempt to counteract the rise of supplier websites.

The revamp includes the creation of a head of retail marketing for Lastminute.com and Travelocity.co.uk, filled by ex-marketing manager for Travelocity.co.uk, Stuart Parish.

Parish will be responsible for all brand development of the two sites in the UK, as well as search engine marketing and acquisition strategy.

Mark McCulloch, promoted in the shake-up to head of brand development, and Gemma La Marquer, who became head of CRM in June this year, will join travel brands marketing manager Matthew Cunliffe and temporary Holiday Autos marketing boss Tracey Osborne in the new structure.

All four will report into the UK marketing director, despite the position still being vacant.

He said: “With these key positions now filled we have a great senior leadership team in place to lead the UK marketing team. Until a new marketing director is appointed I am caretaking this role.”
