Comtec partners Hitchhiker for tariff tool

Travel technology provider Comtec has signed a partnership with German company Hitchhiker to develop a flight tariff and availability tool for travel agents and tour operators.

The product will work across the charter, schedule and low-cost carrier market and has been created to allow travel providers to better manage their net fare contracts via Comtec’s existing Travelink tool.

Comtec product director Ed Whiting said: “Many travel organisations have highly complex requirements for managing an extensive range of directly negotiated airline contracts.

“The partnership between Comtec and Hitchhiker ensures we’re able to integrate a specialist travel sales and management system seamlessly with a best-of-breed air tariff management module”.

First Choice Speciality Holidays has been unveiled as the first travel provider to implement the system during its official launch at World Travel Market this week.

Whiting added “Flight tariff management is a highly specialist area and our relationship with Hitchhiker ensures our customers don’t have to make compromises on system integration to access the best tour operating and flight tariff functionality available in the marketplace.”
