Budget Go Overseas has launched what it claims is the first RSS feed for consumers from a website in the car rental market.

The system has been developed for the dedicated overseas property market section of the Budget car rental site and will allow users to take a feed of special offers available.

Digital direct marketing firm Cheeze has built the system for Budget as a response to what it calls is a growing desire by consumers to choose their method of media communications.

The feed will give users a direct link to deals direct into RSS readers.

“This shift forward in the brands marketing mix will make it easier than ever before for overseas customers to grab the best deal available,” Cheeze said. “This has been promoted via the existing CRM programme; inviting users to have the latest offers live on their desktop.”

It is believed traditional email CRM does not offer the “live” pricing and availability consumers are increasingly demanding, especially in the frequent traveller market.

“Personalisation of content is paramount for travel brands in 2007, with consumers pulling back the power of choice when deciding on when and where they choose to consume media communications,” Cheeze said.
