Specialty operator ITC Classics has signed an agreement with leisure travel software provider Comtec, as part of a plan to upgrade its ecommerce capabilities and boost online sales from consumers and the trade.

Under the terms of the agreement, ITC will implement Comtec’s Travelink sales and management tool, which enables sales staff to manage bookings made online or via phone, and link into live supplier inventory. The Travelink product can also be used as a back-office management system and marketing tool.

ITC will also use Comtec’s WebSell Pro, website design product, as its e-commerce platform. The Travelink and WebSell Pro products will be fully integrated using Comtec’s Travel Gateway.

The deal also provides for specialist flight components supplied by HitchHiker and GDS services provided by Amadeus.

Commenting on the deal, ITC boss Vino Patel, said “Tailor-made travel is our core business and the Comtec Travelink solution provides us with the business tools we need to deliver the highest levels of service, whilst enhancing operational efficiency and staff productivity.”

Comtec’s Travelink solution is aimed at tour operators which offer custom-made travel services, comprising contracts with numerous suppliers.

Comtec has sold its Travelink solution to some 80 UK tour operators, many of which have also purchased Comtec’s WebSell software.
