Travel giants enjoy strong February

The final week in February proved a good one for Expedia, Thomson, Lastminute.com, MyTravel and Thomas Cook, which ranked as the top five travel agency websites by share of UK visits, according to the latest statistics from Hitwise.
Filling out the top 10 slots were Travelsupermarket.com, First Choice, Cheapflights.co.uk, ebookers.com, and Teletext Holidays. Opodo took twelfth place.
Orbitz, whose rating by US holidaymakers has improved recently, continues to struggle in the UK, coming in at 61st place in the Hitwise rankings. Yahoo! Travel came in at number 19, outranking Travelocity UK, which held 36th place.
The top 10 Net Communities & Chat websites for the week ending 24th February, by share of UK visits, were MySpace, Bebo, YouTube, Facebook, Piczo, Faceparty, Friends Reunited UK, Yahoo! Groups, hi5, and BBC h2g2: The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
