TUI has signed an agreement with user experience company Tealeaf to evaluate the behaviour of visitors to its UK website.

Tealeaf will give Thomson two systems to display traffic movements across the site in real time and highlight any problems which are preventing customers from completing a booking.

The monitoring of web performance comes as Thomson continues to increase the complexity of its website with extra functionality, interactivity and more products from different sources.

George Nolan, ecommerce manager for holidays at TUI UK, said: “Despite the size and complexity of our website, Tealeaf was up and running in only a few days and quickly providing us with invaluable insights that help us turn more ‘lookers into bookers’.”

Tealeaf tools are also currently being used by a number of US clients including Priceline, Wyndham Resorts & Hotels and Best Western. Haven Holidays in the UK is also working with the California-based company.

Tealeaf UK country manager John Lillie said: “As the market leader, TUI UK has recognised the importance of understanding online customer behaviour at every step of the search and booking process and is using Tealeaf to ensure that every visitor to their website receives the optimal customer experience.”
