Cheapflights will unveil its long awaited new website first to a small number of users in the US, with the UK site expected to follow a similar strategy in early-2008.

The price comparison site will randomly selected users of the dot-com site over the coming months to test the new site, functionality and branding.

The UK and original site will only be relaunched once the US version has been fully tested and introduced to all users of the dot-com, new UK country manager Francesca Ecsery confirmed.

Cheapflights is also expected to only continue its roll-out into new markets – such as Germany – once the new site has be fully integrated in the UK.

Ecsery said Spain is another market under consideration for a launch.

Earlier this year chief executive David Soskin said Cheapflights is aiming to have a presence in every developed online travel market within five years.
