The Lastminute.com group is to close the agency-facing part of its flight consolidator business Globepost and dynamic packaging trade brand Holidayandmore.

The company has informed agents that these businesses will no longer operate from December 28 this year.

Lastminute.com said it wanted to focus on core brands Medhotels.com and Holiday Autos.

Holidayandmore launched in November 2004 and combined all of the group's trade companies - Medhotels.com, Holiday Autos and Globepost -under one brand, allowing travel agents to dynamically package the individual components in one system.

Globepost was purchased by Lastminute.com as part of the Travelselect acquisition in 2002.

A spokesman said: "The dynamic packaging brand started off strongly, but over time the strength of the medhotels.com and Holiday Autos brands has driven agentsto book individually with the two companies.

"While the flight consolidator was performing well, it's no longer a strategic fit for the business," the spokesman added.

Sabre bought Lastminute.com for £577 million in 2005.
