Travel experience website Worldreviewer.com has developed a series of travel applications aimed at agents, operators and hotels.
The first of the applications, or widgets, enables suppliers to provide detailed weather information via a map on their websites.
Information includes historical weather data so consumers can compare periods of time as well as check where it is warm at a particular time of year.
The technology also enables suppliers to customise one of the tabs to promote special deals or tours.
A second application, guestreviewer, is technology enabling online consumers to upload their videos onto hotel and tour operator sites.
The final widget is a mapping tool providing local area information for hotels, resorts and destinations.
Suppliers can create categories on the map to act as a trusted source of local areas of interest, restaurants or shopping facilities. Online visitors can then add their own reviews and increase the content within the suppliers’ sites.
Worldreviewer also plans to add a facility to draw lines across maps so consumers can plot their itineraries.
James Dunford Wood, co-founder and managing director of worldreviewer said the company was providing the widgets for free as means of increasing its presence and building up further content on its own website.
