Virgin Holidays is to redesign its website later this year as part of a wider effort to boost the number of bookings through the long haul specialist’s online channel.

The news comes as Virgin Holidays extends its relationship with usability and online behaviour firm Bunnyfoot.

Bunnyfoot, headed by managing director Dr John Dodd, is credited with helping Virgin Holidays secure a 90% increase in conversions in recent months.

The number of online bookings for Virgin Holidays has doubled in past year, claimed ecommerce general manager Chris Roe..

The partnership is expected to extend through the re-design process currently underway on the main site and due for completion in late-summer 2008.

Roe said: “Bunnyfoot has been instrumental in helping us take our customer profiles from offline to online.

“Phase one’s success is reflected in the solid increases in both bookings and conversion rates.

“There are exciting elements to the next stage, some currently under wraps, but it will include a new agents’ site to bolster the online service we offer our trade partners and specific user-centred projects.”
