Travel Buddy is to provide ski and snow reports to First Choice customers following a deal with the operator.

The specialist company, which provides location-based information to holidaymakers according to their travel dates and destination, has developed a text message system enabling First Choice to keep consumers up to speed with the latest weather on the slopes.

Users can sign up to the service for the duration of their holiday and alerts will stop as soon as they return.

The operator’s customers can also request local emergency and contact information specific to their destination by texting the keyword ‘Info’ to a designated number.

Travel Buddy managing director Adam Winterflood said the service would improve the customer experience by helping them plan their day in advance.

The deal with First Choice comes hot on the heels of a recently announced five-year partnership with Thomson.

Mobiletrails, Travel Buddy’s parent company, is also working with ABTA to provide an out-of-hours text alert service for members.
