Hotel comparison and reviews site VibeAgent.com is eyeing international expansion with the opening of a European office.

Chief executive Adam Healey said the company had originally considered Prague but the cost advantages were no longer there, so the company is continuing to look for a suitable base for its overseas operations.

“There has to be really compelling rationale such as access to talent or having a European footprint or being able to diversify the site or develop partner relationships. The more international an organisation the better you will understand your customer.”

VibeAgent currently has a team of 12 but has just recruited John DeMarchi as director of user experience.

DeMarchi is a former director of new product development at Orbitz and also worked for Priceline for five years.

Healey described him as at the "cutting edge of online travel" and said he is being given a free rein to shake things up within the company.
