Tripadvisor has re-created three of its hugely successful Facebook applications for users of MySpace.

The trio - Cities I’ve Visited, Local Picks and Traveler IQ Challenge, which was developed by TripAdvisor offshoot Travelpod - will launch on MySpace this week.

The move follows MySpace's decision to follow its social network rival Facebook and open the platform to developers.

The three TripAdvisor apps on Facebook have been dowloaded by six million within the space of 12 months.

TripAdvisor software architect Keith Fitzgerald said: "Bringing Cities I’ve Visited, Local Picks and Traveler IQ Challenge to MySpace lets millions interact on a topic they’re passionate about – travel.

“MySpace’s strong user community is the perfect environment for travelers to adopt the TripAdvisor applications and use them to explore the world around them.”
