TUI Travel is planning to give agents limited access to TripAdvisor reviews on its retail network in the coming months.

Allowing agents to have a route into some elements of TripAdvisor is part of the operator’s plan to provide its high-street consultants with the same information as is available to its consumers via the Thomson website.

A number of shops are currently piloting the technology before opening it up to the wider network later this year. TUI shops have traditionally only had access to internal platforms and a limited number of external sites.

TUI Travel new media director Graham Donoghue said: “We’re seeing great success with the integration of TripAdvisor reviews onsite and, as part of our overall strategy, we intend, to give our shops access to these reviews alongside those of our own customers.”

Earlier this year, Donoghue told Travolution the multiple’s shops would get access to a customised version of its website during the course of the year.

Consultants will not get full access to TripAdvisor but reviews based on the properties in the operator’s brochures.
