Accommodation supplier HotelConnect has taken on TradeDoubler to manage its affiliate programme in the UK.

HotelConnect is planning to significantly expand its programme both in number of affiliates as well as business coming from them.

Commercial director Ian Ackland said the company was increasing its affiliate network to supplement existing direct business as well as trade bookings.

He also said HotelConnect was seeking to triple affiliate business to about a third of direct business which currently accounts for up to 20% of total sales.

“We’re planning to grow the number we have in the UK but TradeDoubler also gives us the opportunity to start up an affiliate programme in Scandinavia.”

Ackland said expanding the programme was likely to come at the expense of paid search.

As part of the agreement HotelConnect is to implement TradeDoubler’s call tracking system, td Talk, which will link the affiliate network to the call-centre and reward affiliates for both sales calls and online sales.

Ackland said: “I don’t think we will see a massive uplift in the call-centre but we’re covering the leakage points.”

HotelConnect had previously used Commission Junction for its affiliate programme.
