European tour operator Siblu has appointed search marketing agency I-Spy to run a 12-month search engine optimisation programme across its website.

The brief will include a three-month audit and optimisation of the Siblu site followed by nine months of link building for the family holiday specialist.

Siblu is understood to have invested heavily in the SEO programme as it looks to become one of the best known tour operating brands in the country for family holidays to France, Italy and Spain.

The SEO work will be carried on both its UK and Irish websites as part of the programme.

I Spy director Nick Jones said: “I-Spy are delighted to have been chosen by Siblu and to be part of such an extensive and aggressive SEO campaign.

“With our extensive knowledge of executing highly successful paid and natural search strategies in the travel sector, we feel we really are the ideal partner for Siblu and look forward to building a long term relationship”.

The Siblu website has been widely praised this year following its implementation of Rich Internet Application technology to massively improve the user experience and navigation throughout the site.

The company won a Tr@vel Pioneer award from Travolution in April 2008.
