IATA moves to clarify regulations after criticism

The International Air Transport Association has opened up discussions with the authorities following accusations that it was falling foul of new regulations.
The organisation was last week accused of failing to operate within the amended CRS Code of Conduct, which came into effect on March 29.
The claim came from newly formed body, the European Technology and Travel Services Association, which said IATA’s PaxIS products was revealing travel agencies indentifiers – in contradiction of the new regulations.
However, an IATA spokesman said it was aware of the amended CRS Code of Conduct and believes PaxIS complies with the regulations.
“We have initiated discussions with the relevant regulatory officials in an effort to assure that it meets applicable legal requirements," he added.
