Several companies have expressed an interest in buying tour operator Titan Travel.

The company is up for sale with a price tag of £15 million to 20 million. Over-50s specialist Saga is already known to be one of the bidders.

McInnes, the corporate finance arm of insolvency specialists Begbies Traynor, is dealing with the sale.

A spokeswoman would not comment on the sale but admitted there were a "number of interested parties" because Titan was an "attractive company" to buy.

Details of the sale were leaked to The Independent, which claimed Saga was likely to fend off rival interest for Titan.

Titan sells holidays worldwide and came top in a Holiday Which? survey in January last year, which received a customer satisfaction rating of 91% from a poll of 4,000 holidaymakers.
