Expedia.com has incorporated sustainability programmes into its site to allow properties to showcase their green credentials.

The agreement is part of the online agency’s efforts to give eco-conscious travellers more resources.

The Green Key eco-rating programme is among those being incorporated. installing a number of avenues for members to be found on Expedia sites.

The programme, which is a joint venture between LRA Worldwide and the Hotel Association of Canada, ranks, certify and audits hotels and resorts based on their commitment to sustainable operations,

Green Key members can register via Expedia Partner Central and will then be found in award and affiliation on the hotel infosite on the details page, as an amenity searchable under the category of green/sustainability and on the green hotels list which will be searchable by destination.
