The first online training course for tour operator staff has been created by the European Tour Operators Association with Online Travel Training.

The first modules give an overview of the association, its membership, interests and activities. New modules to follow over the coming months include guidelines for contractors and other operational staff.

ETOA is giving away a bottle of Champagne to one operator employee who completes the course during the launch period. The course can be accessed via http://www.onlinetraveltraining.co.uk/etoa.aspx.

The association’s head of online strategy Adam Buckmaster said: “This will introduce ETOA to a new audience and at the same time gives our members the chance to consolidate their own knowledge of their association.

“This is one of several enhancements to our online offering, with our new look website launching later this year and a new registration system for our events.”

Online Travel Training operations director Bruce Martin predicted that e-learning will eventually grow to be a “formidable online resource” for operational staff.
