Budget accommodation booker Hostelworld.com is hoping to reinforce its position with consumers by introducing a service guarantee.

The company is pledging to credit a customer’s account with their deposit plus $20 credit toward future bookings if they find that their reservation has been lost on arrival at their accommodation.

Customer services manager Orla Gilmore said: “We are so confident in our guaranteed reservations for our customers that, in the extremely unlikely event of a missing reservation at the property, we will credit their Hostelworld.com account with the deposit plus add $20 extra credit toward future accommodation bookings on Hostelworld.com.

“In the event that customers must make a service guarantee credit claim, they just fill in a short form detailing the problem they encountered at the property on arrival. Our customer service team will follow it up from there.”
