Guests staying at New York’s Royalton hotel will be provided customised Apple iPads as a supplement to its concierge programme.

City events content will be available on the devices, giving ‘insider’ knowledge while every aspect of their hotel stay is tailored to personal preferences, according to parent company Morgans Hotel Group.

In-room access to bespoke services is also available including streaming music created exclusively for Morgans.

The Royalton iPad provides direct communication with hotel management and access to services including room service, housekeeping, wake up calls, valet parking/bellman, internet, hotel information, transportation options, maps and directions.

The iPad service is to be expanded to other hotels in the group which includes the Sanderson and St Martins Lane in London.

Creative director and senior vice-president Kim Walker said: “The in-room iPad concierge programme we have created for Royalton is creative and playful, as well as practical, and it speaks to the personality of our guests.”
