A co-founder and head of online independent travel agency Sunshine.co.uk is leaving the business.

Chris Brown, one of a trio who set up the company in 2007, is stepping down to focus on new projects.

Marketing director and fellow co-founder Chris Clarkson is to replace Brown as managing director.

At the same time Zoe Robson has been appointed from Hays Travel as the company's new financial director.

Alan Gilmour, the third co-founder of Sunshine.co.uk, said: "The new appointments signify an important time in our growth; with record numbers of bookings and more and more consumers seeing us as the first port of call for cheap holidays, it is important that we grow the company in a sensible yet dynamic way.

“I am very much looking forward to working with Zoe and I am sure that she will make sure we carry on hitting our goals while also delivering best-in-industry levels of customer service."
